Our trip to the Geffrye Museum

Yesterday Blue class visited the Geffrye Museum to learn all about old and new homes. We had a great time and learnt lots about what homes were like in the past.
We saw a Victorian sitting room and looked at all the things in it. We agreed that it was very different to ours today!
We also walked around some lovely herb gardens and had a look at some Victorian artefacts. Can you guess what some of them might have been used for?

We have been working really hard this week so it was difficult to choose just 2 children for our golden award.
Well done to Farihah who was given an award for being really kind and helpful in the classroom.
Amr was also given a golden award for great listening and putting his hand up on the carpet. He has given some fantastic answers this week.
We are really looking forward to our trip to the Jeffrye Museum next week. It will help us with our project on old and new houses and we are really looking forward to going.
Check back for our news and pictures about the trip!

Moving pictures

This term year 1 are looking at pushes and pulls and Blue class have made some great moving pictures in D&T.
We thought about what could move in the pictures, how we could make it move and what we would need to make it.
This is Rona's fantastic moving picture. Can you see where the witch moves across the sky on her broomstick?

Well done to Tigers who got the most house points in blue class this week!
We have all worked really hard to try and get as many points for our houses as we can.
Who will be next weeks champions?

Wonderful Work

This week in literacy we have been looking at the story 'Baaboom'. We really enjoyed reading it and we worked really hard to re-write the story in our own words.

This is Alaa's writing. Great work!

Welcome back!

It's been a busy first week back and we have enjoyed hearing all our news from the Christmas break. This week we have been put into houses. These are: Tigers, Lions, Leopards and Jaguars and we have all been working really hard to try and get lots of house points.
Tigers got the most house points this week and we have talked about how we can try and get even more next week!
Well done to our golden children this week - Rona and Tahmid. Rona did some great literacy work re-writing this week's story - Rumplestiltskin. Tahmid has sat really sensibly on the carpet and has been putting his hand up to answer lots of questions.
We also went on a walk around the school, as part of our geography project on the local area. Check back for some of our work!
